Comeau’s Sea Foods scallops are harvested off the coast of Nova Scotia in cold North Atlantic waters. Perfect for any dish, our appetizing scallops are available fresh, frozen and in value-added products. Mouth-watering preparation ideas are listed in our Recipe section.
Delivering industry-superior quality and taste is of greatest importance to Comeau’s Sea Foods – that’s why we adhere to strict quality specifications for each harvest and processing operation. Comeau’s Sea Foods owns and operates four offshore scallop draggers. These vessels are all equipped with modern cooling equipment to fast chill our catch before icing – preserving ocean freshness, right to your table.
Catches are shucked at sea, bagged and stored on ice until they are offloaded to our Quality Management Program-certified facilities on shore. Scallops are then washed, manually graded and packed fresh or frozen to ensure freshness. Frozen scallops are available frozen in 5 lb. blocks and are graded under 10, 10/20, 20/30 and 30/40 count per pound. Individually Quick Frozen scallops are also available.
Comeau’s Sea Foods value-added line of succulent breaded scallops and scallop burgers are processed by our Comeau Foods division and delight scrutinizing connoisseurs around the world. Roe-on scallops are also packed for customers in the European market.
